Bearn (26)
The Béarn
The Bearn is an area rich in history; a green, wooded land with mountain rivers, hidden valleys and some spectacular Pyreneen valleys.
Bigorre (30)
The Bigorre is the French department known as Hautes Pyrénées, and consists of a rich, wooded plain and to the south, some of the most spectacular valleys of the Pyrénées.

At the heart of Gascony, with its traditions of armagnac and foie gras, lies the fertile land of the Gers with its lovely undulating valleys.

North of the Pyrénées lies a long, high ridge where the towns of the Comminge overlook a wide plain leading to the mountains, giving the area its non-departmental name, the Comminge.

The Landes
The Landes is a flat and sandy land, noted for its unending pine forest and magnificent beaches.
Pays Basque (26)
A fiercely independent area, the Pays Basque, where the Basque language is still spoken and the traditions followed as strongly as ever. The Pyrénées and the coast make it a favourite holiday area.
