The Gave d'Oloron, rich in trout and salmon, attracts every year numerous fishermen, from the area, from France and many other countries. That is why for 40 years NAVARRENX has organised the World Salmon Fishing Championships, in collaboration with the Tourist Offices of SALIES-DE-BEARN, SAUVETERRE-DE-BEARN, and OLORON-STE-MARIE, and with the help of local fishing associations.
In this wonderful land fishermen and women with a passion for this sport come between March and July to fish 60 kilometres of river. Come and discover for yourself the pleasures of sport fishing, the beauty of our region, the quality of our climate and the richness of our gastronomy.
