Towns - Natural History

Bath. Elegant Georgian city and one of Britain's most popular tourist destinations.
Norwood Farm. Organic Rare Breeds Farm set in beautiful countryside only 7 miles from Bath. 30 acres of display area with a wide variety of animals to see, including lambs, goats, rabbits, calves, Shetland ponies, Tamworth pigs and more.
Gloucester.
Slimbridge Wildfowl & Wetlands Centre. Feeding and learning about wetland birds. See the worlds largest collection of exotic, rare and endangered ducks, geese and swans. Enjoy the fabulous new visitor centre and relax as you amble through 50 hectares of landscaped grounds.
Ilfracombe.
Lundy Island. The first maritime reserve in Britain is around this island. The M.S. Oldenburg leaves the harbour throughout the week taking visitors to this fascinating island. 3 miles long and half a mile wide, this nature reserve is free from cars and providesan excellent viewpoing for puffins, seals and porpoise.
Minehead.
Dunster Arboreatum. Tallest Tree in England
Tetbury.
Westonbirt Arboretum. Britain's National Arboretum with over 18000 specimen trees and shrubs and 17 miles of waymarked paths. Particularly lovely during spring and autumn but worth a visit at any time of the year. There are regular events, such as fireworks displays, concerts, garden shows.
